Simultaneous audio and image presentations

    Simultaneous audio and image presentations

    Hi,

I have a DirectRT question concerning visual and audio presentations of stimuli. Specifically, can DirectRT run an audio track and multiples images simultaneously in one block of trials?

Put differently, in my experiment, I want the participant to be able to listen to a conversation and view several images at the same time. Can Direct RT accomplish this task? If yes, how does one prepare the input file for this task?

    Thanks,

    Nassim

You can't currently play a sound file across trials in DirectRT, but you can play it continuously throughout a single trial while other stimuli are being presented. So depending on how many images you want to display, you could simply load them all up to play on a single trial while a background sound file plays. Alternatively, you could do this in MediaLab which does allow for one sound file to play through subsequent trials.
