Hi there,
I am trying to get DirectRT to play a video file (that plays properly in WMP) and it shows only a black screen.
DirectRT Version: 2010.2.103.1115
Windows 7
Input file attached and videos can be found here (I am using the top 3 videos in "raw form"). I indicated the underscore before the file name, set both input file and video file in the same Stim directory folder, indicated various resolutions in paretheses after the file name, played with the colour.txt file and found it is only compatible at 16 or 32 (not 24) bits, and yet it will not play. My goal is to present only 2mins of each ~5min video in three blocks of 10 trials (2mins x 10 trials x 3 videos = ~60min experiment excluding intertrial interval). I would also like to record continuous button presses during the videos, so any insight on how to configure what I expected would be a simple paradigm would be much appreciated. Thank you!!
The first thing that I would recommend is upgrading to DirectRT v.2010.3.109. You should generally try to work with the most recent version of DirectRT for which you have a license. You can download it and install it here: http://www.empirisoft.com/download_old.aspx. Just send the 14-character D-code to service@empirisoft.com and send it to service@empirisoft.com for a permanent license code.
In the .csv input file you sent me, you need to indicate the file type of your movie file in trial 4. For example, if the movie file is a .wmv format, then type _indian.wmv (480X270) in the stim cell of trial 4.
