Delay in Windows 7 for displaying images (Case 2143)

Delay in Windows 7 for displaying images (Case 2143)

We are running an experiment where we present subjects with some questions and then show them a series of images. We recently upgraded from v2008 on an XP machine (where the task worked fine) to v2012 on a Windows 7 machine. When presenting the images, there is about a 1 second delay (blank screen) between the presentation of the images. I have reduced their color depth to 8 BPP and converted them to bmp, as recommended. However, the delay is still present. We also experience a delay in the display of the questions when a quick style is used. After removing the quick style, the delay between the questions disappeared.
    Thanks
    Rachel

Redker--I'm going to address your post in your other thread since it is a DirectRT issue. Rkozink--I'll respond to your issue (above) momentarily.

    Rachel,

What settings are different in the quickstyle file than just before you apply it? If you create a different quickstyle file with very little change (e.g., the background color) does it still seem to cause the additional time? A couple other issues that might be relevant--are you applying the same quickstyle at the start of each image? Or just once and letting it run? If you do the latter, does the delay occur only initially?
