Blank screen on custom item

    Blank screen on custom item

We have recently created a customized html item with multiple questions with multiple radio-button responses. We would like participants to be able to press "continue" without having to answer any of the questions. When we've tested the page without answering any of the questions, we saw a blank white screen upon pressing "continue" and Media lab essentially froze (we could not close the questionnaire without turning on the task manager). When we answered one or more question, we were able to press "continue" without any problems. Any ideas on why we only have problems when we answer none of the questions?

By default, MediaLab requires that some data be posted from a custom item in order to continue. You get around this by adding a hidden variable or as one user recently suggested, you could simply add a value to the continue button. See:

It occurs to me though that the solution might be a bit trickier in your case. In the link above, we were talking about a custom item which was not supposed to collect any data (as opposed to optionally collecting data if a response were made).

If you want to post your custom item and que file, maybe we offer some specific html code for you.
