Video Problems in Windows on Intel Mac

Video Problems in Windows on Intel Mac

We are trying to run an experiement using Medialab installed on Windows running on an Intel Mac Pro. Video files are in Windows Media format and play fine in Windows Media Player but when played within Medialab certain parts of the video speed up, other times the video "skips." Videos play fine on other machines within Medialab.

Do you have any info about Windows on a Mac?

    Thanks,

    Brendan Keegan

All we have so far on this is here:

Safe to assume you do not have the "use enhanced video" option checked on this machine? Does it have an impact if you play the video at full screen in MediaLab vs. at a specified size (e.g., its encoded resolution)?

    Thanks Jarvis,

The issue was with the files being encoded to WMV with Flip4Mac, Windows Media components for quicktime. Once we tried windows media files that had been encoded on a PC it worked fine.

That could be very useful info for our new Mac users--thanks Brendan. I'd be curious to know if mpeg encoded movies from a Mac (e.g., via QuickTime) work fine--e.g., that only .wmv movies are susceptible to this issue. Hmm.
