Timing Precision: Media Lab vs. DirectRT

I know you recommend DirectRT if very precise timing is required. But if I have conditions where several screen shots will be displayed for one second, five seconds, or ten seconds, will MediaLab suffice?

Yes, MediaLab is general great for that sort of purpose--especially if you don't have access to or are unfamiliar with DirectRT. As a fuzzy rule of thumb, when both presentation and reaction times being exceeding 1 second, the error in timing approches a minimal impact on effect detection due to the declining proportion of error in timing.
