Visual Probe in DirectRT

    Visual Probe in DirectRT

    Hi

I am trying to design an attentional bias experiment and plan to use DirectRT to flash a pair of pictures followed by a visual mask, and then have one of two types of visual probes appear in either the left or right field. Could you suggest the best way to implement this? I know there is a thread for visual probes on the Medialab support, but I wonder if I need to use two CSV files - one for presenting the pictures and masks and the other for the probes.

This is actually pretty straight forward in DirectRT. Check out the section in the manual on compound screens. You could present the two images simultaneously and then after a defined delay, present the visual probe. This is especially easy if you are simply taking the RT to the probe rather than the images because it is the last stimulus presented. Let me know if that's at all unclear.
