Skip based on earlier questionnaire

    Skip based on earlier questionnaire

I am very new to MediaLab and I'm designing an experiment. So far I've got almost everything working as I like, except for one thing that may not be possible to do.

What I want is to have participants answer a question at the beginning of the experiment in the first questionnaire and then later on after completing a few other questionnaires and a DirectRT task, I would like to have participants get sent to different versions of a questionnaire based on their response to the question at the beginning of the experiment.

I can see how to use the "skipto" logic within a questionnaire to immediately go to different questions or to create multiple versions of an experiment based on the condition they are assigned to by our experimenter, but I can't figure out a way to do what I'm trying to. Any insight (even if it's that I can't do what I want) is greatly appreciated.

Check out the section in the user's guide on "Advanced Features" and look especially at complex skipping. With this functionality, you can track responses through the session, create variables using Excel's conditional logic and create custom skips later on in your experiment that use these variables. If you run into any trouble please let me know!
