Using <specify> for Other - deleting cancel option?

Using <specify> for Other - deleting cancel option?

When using <specify> is there a way to delete the Cancel option and just have enter your response and click "Ok"?

For a few questions we are using a scale response and have an Other option if they don't feel they fit into any of the group catergories we provide. We're finding that quite often when a participant clicks 'other' they tend to panic when they see the pop up box and automatically click cancel. This is even after they have been given instructions that a pop up box will appear! So it would be good if it is possible to remove the cancel option.

    Thanks.

In the current version, I don't believe there is an option to prevent subjects from changing their mind and clicking the cancel button. However, if you were to use the Advanced Features (see users guide for documentation, a tutorial and sample) and create a responses.xls file, you could enter and track their response to this item. Create a complex skip value in the responses.xls file that basically says "if the response to this question is "" (aka "blank") then assign a skip value to the item that equals its variable name. When a question has a skipto value that is its variable name, then it will simply repeat itself. In this case, subjects would have another opportunity to select "Other" or to select a different response.
