mouse button on an image

Hi
I am using DirecRT 2006 with windows XP OS and trying to set a cursor responsive area on the screen and i have come across a problem: where the area is over lapsed by an image the area becomes unresponsive. Does anybody know a way to fix that?

Is this a .bmp image you are clicking on? If so, would you mind zipping and attaching a reduced/simplified sample that illustrates the issue? I'd be happy to take a look at it.
