I'm working with an experiment that uses the skip option to prompt a text box once the participant is able to recognize a target word that slowly fades onto the monitor (and presses enter). My problem: The text box does not immediately appear onto the screen after the participant presses "enter". Sometimes, the participant has to press "enter" several times for the text box to appear. How can I get the text box to pop up more promptly? Is this lag effecting the reaction times being written into my data file? Any help is appreciated!
