    Stops running for no apparent reason?

    Hi everyone,
    I'm using Direct RT 2008 on a Vista system and everything has been working fine with the input files I've created. However, sometimes the file will run through until the end like it's supposed to, and sometimes it just stops. No error message or any kind of explanation will pop up to explain why this happens. It just ends and goes back to the blank screen of black that is brought up when you open Direct RT.

    Any idea why this might be happening? It will really mess up my data collection!

    Is this the beta version for v2010 that was designed to run on XP, Vista and Windows 7, or is it the standard v2008 from the download page?

    It's the 2008 version. I have no idea why it is doing this.

    The regular 2008 version (and prior versions) are not intended to be run on Vista. We have a v2010 beta designed for Vista (as well as XP and Windows 7) if you would like to try it.

    Just wanted to add in case it helps anyone that I've been using v2008 in windows XP without any problems. Recently I experienced the same problem--DirectRT stops running without an error--and it seems to be due to incorporating time contingent skip patterns into my input files using the !meta column. Without !meta commands I haven't experienced this problem.
