I am having trouble getting one of my computers to run DirectRT. The problem seems to be that it cannot do 16 bit color with a resolution of 800x600. Could this be complicated because I have 2 monitors hooked up to the computer? I just need this to run on the current computer for testing/programming; I will not collect data on this computer - if that matters.
I saw that it is possible to use a '.txt' file to tell the program to use a specific color setting within a study. Is there a way to do something like that for the screen size / resolution?
In order to change the resolution that the software runs your experiment in, you would need to change the resolution parameters within your experiment's style file (*.drt) . If you do not have a .drt file within the same directory that your experiment is located at, then it means you're using the default style file for your experiment.

Once you open up the style file that your experiment is using, you will want to navigate to the 'Options' button, and click it. A new window will open.
Within this window you will be able to specify the screen size that you would like your experiment to run at.

Also, the dual monitor could also be the issue. Especially if you are using the second monitor as an expanded desktop (as opposed to a cloned screen). I believe this may be resolved in v2010.
