    IAT Question

    Hello,

    I am currently using DirectRT to run an Implicit Association Task. For whatever reason, it takes a minute for each trial to load on the computer screen.

    I noticed in the Log data files that DRT records this loading time and it can be different depending on the stimuli shown during the trial.

    If I am running a reaction time task, such as the IAT, does this load time affect their reaction time? Or, does is their reaction time recorded after the trial is loaded?

    Do you get the same result if you run the sample IAT that comes with DirectRT?

    Sorry for my delay in answering your question.

    When I play the IAT sample in DirectRT, it loads much quicker. The slight delay that I experience with my IAT program does not occur.

    I would first check your style (.drt) file and compare it with the one used in the sample. Check out to see where there are differences--especially in the display size (set in Options). Let me know if you see any obvious differences between the two files. If not, then please attach a copy of the input and style files and I'd be happy to take a look.
