    Hello, I'm sure my question has a very simple solution, but I'm brand new to both MediaLab and DirectRT and I've been reading the manual and doing the tutorial for two days now and I've gotten stuck on one thing.

    What I want to do is require two responses to each stimulus before moving on to the next trial. Specifically, as an example, the word "red" will pop up on the screen as the stimulus, and the participant will say "stop" or "go." (I read about recording rt's to vocal responses and hooking up to a microphone and all that.) This vocal response from the participant will be the first response, and I want the experimenter to then be able to hit a key on the keyboard to indicate whether the response was correct or incorrect (eg. 1 for correct or 2 for incorrect) before it moves on to the next trial.

    I tried playing around with multiple "time" columns to see if I could get it to just require two key presses (to simplify while I'm learning), like this:

    block trial bgr wgr style stim loc time time *
    1 1 0 0 1 ~red 0,0,1 rt:252 rt: 253 *
    1 2 0 0 1 ~green 0,0,1 rt:252 rt:253 *

    but that doesn't work. What am I doing wrong?

    How about something like this:

    block trial bgr wgr style stim loc time stim loc time *

    Oh, yeah, if that will do what I wanted it to, then that's perfect, thanks!
    So, I guess I wasn't clear on this before...does that mean you have to have a stimulus for every response you want to collect? I could theoretically keep the same stimulus in the same spot for both responses and it would appear on the screen as if it didn't change until the second response was given, am I getting that right?
