Video is only playing sound not the visual

I am having a similar problem as user lelliott10 [moderator's note: is this the link? http://www.empirisoft.com/Support/showthread.php?t=1341). My video is 5 minutes long and is at the end of a single questionnaire I tried to put it in both a .wmv and a .avi format but both types only play the sound and have the blue/violet screen with the black bar at the bottom. The files worked fine using medialab 2004 but for some reason it is not working using 2008. I have tried setting different paramaters and this has not helped either. Is there a reason I am not seeing the movie?

Are you running this on Windows XP or Vista? Also--check out the workaround post toward the end of this thread:
