load delay for images

    load delay for images

    hey jarvis,
in one of my experiments i have a sequence of 40images all loaded and displayed in the same trial like so
    1 15 1 0 1 pic1, 0,0,0, 40, pic2, 0,0,0, 40, pic3, 0,0,0, 40, pic4, 0,0,0, 40 etc.
You showed me how to display these correctly in topic
    http://www.empirisoft.com/support/showthread.php?t=1279

I have since changed the 40millisecond time field to this
    rt:95,(889)>-9
this allows the 'movie' to be interrupted and goes straight to the rate emotion trial

anyway my question is the load times for loading the 40images are quite random between 2-8 seconds i realise this is because the program is trying to dynamically load 40images within the read ahead time set by the minmax settings i believe?
unfortunatly to make the 'movie' display correctly i have the minmax set to 0-40!ms
of course this is insufficent time to load the images is there a way to help in this situation a long load time is fine so long as it is a consistant load time in each case
there are about 40 of these image movies in the experiment

I was thinking adding a blank text file to the beginning of each 'movie' trial with 1000ms delay might help? this would give the images time to be read in hopefully.

It's actually during the trial interval the images will be loaded. What trial interval are you using? i.e., as set under Options in you Style (.drt) file?

the trial interval is set to 40ms

Can you try setting it to a higher value such as 1000ms to see if that helps.
