feedback with no response option

    feedback with no response option

I'm trying to create a go/no task and am having some problems. I know about the -1 parameter and have seen the GNAT support information. The problem I am running into is that I need my task to provide both feedback about correct/incorrect (easy to do and already implemented) and when they go too slow. I cannot do the latter as it seems that I need to use the Style minmax parameter to allow the no-response option to work for accuracy feedback. Any ideas about how I can implement this?

Not sure I understand. If they have the option to not respond, then how can you tell them they are going too slow?

Yes, you're right--it would be impossible to give feedback to a "no-go" response. However, I would like to give speed feedback for the "go" responses. For example, I'd like to tell subjects to go faster if their "go" RTs exceed 500 ms. Any way to do this with a combined go/no-go task?

I don't think think so because -1 (no press) is taken as a regular response so if you define 500ms as too slow then "no response" would have to get the same message if it's set to be taken after 500ms has expired. What we would need here is separate styles for different valid responses within the same trial which currently DirectRT can't do. Would be a useful feature though.
